If you're on the hunt for top-notch movie posters, especially original prints, look no further than CineMasterpieces! My folks had an original print for a flick called High Society (1956) but lost it in a terrible fire. I was on a quest to find a replacement for them, but those originals are tough to track down. Without CineMasterpieces, I doubt I would’ve stumbled upon an original in such great shape. The quality is outstanding, and the folks running the place are super friendly! When I reached out about the poster, they got back to me in no time, and they were just so kind. Seriously, they’re the real deal. I chose David because, based on what I had observed, he had a wider selection of rare and investment-quality movie posters in one place than I had encountered elsewhere, except at auctions. If I was gonna shell out top dollar for investment-grade material, it had to meet the standards of rarity and condition. The poster I got from David was just that. His item description was spot on, so there were no surprises when it showed up. It was just as I anticipated. I also noticed that David was willing to think creatively to come up with terms that suited us both. All in all, the deal went smoothly and was a real delight.

I had an awesome French subway artwork from The Wall film back in the '80s. After years of college, moving around, and some serious neglect on my part, it was no longer in good shape for display. I reached out to Cinemasterpieces to find a new one. I was a bit doubtful at first, but they were amazing with quick responses, reasonable prices, and just great customer service overall. After spending quite a bit to get it framed (the print is huge!), I can now enjoy it every day in my office nook. If you're on the hunt for something one-of-a-kind or want to keep a cherished piece, I’d definitely suggest giving them a shot.

*Alright, I’m gonna give this review a fresh spin and focus solely on my own experience. I’m not touching on the prices or what others think, just sticking to my own story. Honestly, I’m baffled by the guy suddenly claiming I messed up the poster. In our emails, he kept saying I should ‘leave it rolled up for a bit and it’ll sort itself out’ and that ‘after proper framing/flattening, it won’t even be noticeable.’ But several folks in the business who saw the photos of the creased poster told me that wasn’t true and it needed to be redone. Then he said, ‘No linen-backed poster is perfect, don’t stress about it,’ and insisted I shouldn’t send it off to get fixed, which felt really off since it was clearly heavily creased. Even someone without expertise could see it wouldn’t just ‘fix itself.’

So yeah, I’m trimming this review a bit because this guy is accusing me of blackmailing him (seriously? Does he even know what that means?) and he’s acting kinda weird. I’ve got emails that I’m happy to share showing that while I was understandably upset about the crease, it became clear he wasn’t going to help and his advice was just bizarre, especially since it contradicted what I was hearing from other knowledgeable people. At no point did I say anything that could be seen as ‘blackmail.’ That’s just absurd. I mentioned I’d leave a negative review after I told him I felt our business was done since he wasn’t backing his work. That was the last email we exchanged, and the only time I mentioned a bad review was in response to his handling of the situation, which is totally my right. He never suggested I had damaged the poster; he just kept telling me to roll it up and not worry. And I never ‘threatened’ a bad review for anything in return, that’s just ludicrous. I did ask for a partial refund of $250 (which would cover most of the cost to redo it), and I was ignored, not ‘denied.’

So here’s the revised review. I sent a rare and valuable vintage poster to him for linen backing, thinking the priciest place would give the best quality. When it came back weeks later, there was a big crease at the bottom that bulges out when the poster is unrolled; the crease runs deep through the poster and the linen backing, likely due to the restorer’s carelessness, according to other pros who looked at the photos. His response? I should ‘leave it rolled up and it’ll go away.’ That sounded completely absurd to me.

To make matters worse, when you check out Cinemasterpieces’ website, they’re clear about using Registered Insured mail for valuable posters. But when he sent it back, he went with the cheapest option without even asking me. I had to insist he use Registered Insured mail (which he didn’t do, he just added insurance), and I had to request a tracking number. If I hadn’t caught this and pushed for insurance, I could’ve been in real trouble if the poster got lost or damaged, and remember, this poster is worth several thousand dollars.

Moving forward, I will STEER CLEAR OF THIS BUSINESS.
